Service Manager/Estimator for Hopkins Auto Body

Growing up, Kub was one of many boys in his family and his father was always working on cars. He got to help by keeping the tools clean for his dad.

After going to school and trying a few different things, Kub found himself working at a corporate body shop. Not expecting to be doing this kind of work after the days of just helping his dad with the tools, he was now in the auto industry and learning about the repair process and working as an Estimator. He began to learn about the estimating systems, insurance procedures, along with customer service and he started working with Hopkins Auto Body.

Working as an estimator means that no day is the same for Kub, as he writes up estimates and works as a liaison between the customer and the insurance company. The day also consists of interacting with technicians and insurance adjusters to find the best way to repair the customer’s vehicle to pre-accident condition. These steps include deciding whether it’s best to repair or replace a part, searching for the parts throughout the country and getting them to the shop in a timely matter.

Kub loves the fact the auto repair industry is always changing and the fact that each repair is going to be a unique experience. It’s a challenging job a lot of time, but it’s great to learn new things as the industry changes. And the best reward is putting a smile on the customer’s face when delivering a completed vehicle to them.
